Suicide was the 2nd leading cause of death among persons aged 15-34 years.
Suicide was the 3rd leading cause of death among persons aged 10-14 years.
According to the Samaritans Suicide Statistics Report 2017:
There were 6639 reported suicides in the UK & Irish Republic in 2015
According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention:
There are approximately 121 suicides in the USA per day.
In the UK, 231 young people between the ages of 10 – 19 took their own lives in 2015. (Office for National Statistics)
According to Global Statistics, there is one suicide in the world every 40 seconds.

As of September 2019, the most recent stats are for 2018. In the UK there were 6507 suicides that were officially registered. Males between the ages of 45-49 are the highest age-specific rate.
